THE EVOLUTION OF REFORMER PILATES

Reformer was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, initially focusing on rehabilitation and injury prevention. He created the first Reformer by modifying hospital beds and using springs for resistance to help patients exercise. After World War II, Reformer equipment gained wider recognition, particularly among dancers and athletes, who found it beneficial for injury recovery and performance enhancement. Today, modern Reformers accommodate all fitness levels, from beginners to athletes, offering a versatile method to improve strength, flexibility and overall physical health. Learn how it specifically benefits men in our latest article – click here.
